As part of its continuing tribal series, North Coast AEP/APA will host Tribal Liaison Ethan 'Red Eagle' Lawton, from SHN, who will briefly discuss the Tribal Consultation purpose and outcome regarding Tribal Cultural Resources during the AB-52 process and best practices. This presentation will provide a better understanding of what meaningful consultation means according to CEQA, agencies, and most Tribes. The potential 2025 amendments to AB-52 will be included. Q&A will follow the presentation. Although originally from Alaska, Mr. Lawton is a descendant of four different Tribal nations. Having experience working with +150 tribes as an intercultural specialist, tribal liaison, and planner, he specializes in bridging the gaps between cultures for the purposes of improving relationships and promoting understanding.
