This presentation highlights how CEQA was used to evaluate noise impacts associated with the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. As part of the Addendum to the certified EIR, the analysis incorporated on-site noise monitoring to assess actual sound levels during festival operations and determine compliance with applicable thresholds. The presentation covers the monitoring methodology, the application of mitigation measures, including real-time sound level adjustments, and how the findings supported the conclusion that noise impacts remained less than significant. Monitoring continues to be conducted annually to ensure compliance with adopted thresholds and maintain performance of mitigation measures over time. This case study illustrates a practical approach to CEQA compliance for complex, event-driven projects.
