We know that business is better with diverse teams and AEP strongly believes that Mentoring can be too! The AEP Mentorship Program offers a great way to build community, both one-on-one and in a smaller group setting.
The AEP Mentorship Program offers an opportunity to be both Mentee and Mentor at the same time and is designed to provide maximum flexibility and opportunities for our members. The AEP Mentorship Program consists of both passive and active opportunities. The passive option allows Mentors to search our member database for potential Mentors who have designated themselves to be interested in mentoring. The active option guides either 1-1 Mentor/Mentee pairs or peer groups on a 9-session curriculum together.
Some groups/pairs will choose to meet in person, and other groups will meet online through Skype, Google Hangouts, and other conferencing tools, depending on participants’ preferences indicated at the time of registration.
AEP Mentorship Program Mission
Provide an opportunity for members of all ages to interact in a mentor/mentee relationship with like-minded environmental professionals. AEP provides a platform to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, personal career growth, and continued excellence in the environmental profession. As a service to our members, the Mentorship Program develops personal relationships and fosters personal contributions to the AEP community, with an emphasis on volunteerism, "passing the torch", and staying involved.
Thank you for your interest in the AEP Mentorship Program. Please complete the registration using the link below to be included in our Active Mentorship Program, which will pair either mentor/mentees or peer mentoring groups and provide recurring session prompts and materials. Registrations will be collected until April 30th, 2023. Once collected, we will create mentor/mentee pairs and peer mentoring groups with the goal of contacting our participants and beginning sessions in March.
