This session will provide the audience with the latest legislation that recently passed that may be of interest to Planners, as well as bills from the current legislative session that are being passed on to the Governor for his signature.

Speaker: AEP Lobbyist and Co-Founder & Partner of Summit Advocacy Matt Klopfenstein has over 16 years of experience as a lobbyist. He represents a variety of clients in legislative and regulatory arenas, specializing in technology, energy, environmental, transportation, manufacturing, and local government policymaking. He covers a wide breadth of high-profile issues for clients, serving as both a subject matter expert and boots-on-the-ground lobbyist. He has been involved in numerous noteworthy policy fights, both sponsoring priority legislation for clients, as well as working to prevent problematic proposals. and recently started a new lobbying and government affairs firm, Summit Advocacy, LLC with Laura Bennett. He’s looking forward new opportunities and continuing to work representing clients in legislative and regulatory arenas. Matt specializes in technology, energy, environmental, water, transportation, and local government policymaking, covering a wide breadth of high-profile issues. Before founding Summit, Matt spent over a decade at his prior lobbying firm, where he worked his way to become a partner. Prior to that, he worked as a law clerk representing local government agencies.
